Can our pre-school child really learn to speak English?

The neuroanatomical structures of the human auditory system are surprisingly mature at birth. Infants can discriminate different voices very soon after being born. A newborn baby can recognize it's mother's voice and is sensitive to intonation contours. The sensitive period for language learning is at it's peak between birth and the age of six (M. Montessori). Toy Box parents take advantage of this innate ability of their small children to introduce them painlessly to a second language and culture at a time when they are best able to absorb them.
The Toy Box Little School of English not only offers your pre-school boy or girl, age one to six, a full-immersion English-speaking environment, but provides at the same time caring and conscientious professional attention and a progressive educational program.

What Children Need

What makes for a healthy, happy child? Young children need a series of minimum conditions to be able to develop into healthy, well-balanced adults. These are the conditions which Toy Box fulfils:

  • They need physical wellbeing and a supportive environment.
  • They need professional personal attention in a caring atmosphere.
  • They need materials with which to learn to work and play with others.
  • They need personal freedom, in order to grown according to their own personal criteria.

Questions of Security

You can rest at ease when your child goes to Toy Box because:

  • The centre has a valid licence issued by the local autorities.
  • The school has an evacuation and emergency plan approved by the Granada civil defense authority.
  • The staff possess certificates in first aid.
  • The teaching team is 100% qualified.
  • Health and safety inspections are carried out frequently by the Junta de Andalucía regional government.
  • The centre receives regular inspections from the parents themselves to monitor the quality of service with regard to staff/child ratios, and the educational programme provided.
  • The school is walled and equipped with an electronic gate. Only parents and Toy Box suppliers are admitted. There is an admission code which reduces the risk of undesired visitors. An intercom permits teachers to communicate with each other without having to leave the children alone.
  • All students are fully insured, first under an overall school insurance plan, then individually.
